Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Jan Ole Wellnitz ("we", "us", "our") processes personal data in connection with the SimpliBudget mobile application ("App") and this website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. App Data
No personal data collection: SimpliBudget does not require an account or login. All data you enter — including budgets, expenses, categories, and settings — is stored exclusively on your device. Your budget and expense data is never transmitted to us or to any third party. The only exception is in-app purchase data, which is processed by RevenueCat solely to manage your subscription (see Section 5).
Export and Backups: If you choose to export or back up your data, it is stored in a location of your choice (e.g. local device, external storage, cloud service). We have no access to this data. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you use for storage.
3. Website
Website Hosting — Firebase
This website is hosted by Google Firebase Hosting (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). When you visit this website, Firebase automatically processes your IP address and access data (browser type, date and time of access) in server logs for security and operational purposes.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interests in operating a secure and stable website.
Retention: Server log data is automatically deleted after a maximum of 30 days, unless retention for a longer period is required to investigate a security incident.
International transfer: Google LLC is based in the USA. Data transfers are carried out on the basis of the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision of 10 July 2023) or, where applicable, Standard Contractual Clauses. For more information, see Firebase's privacy information.
Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking
This website does not use cookies, local storage, tracking pixels, web beacons, or any analytics or advertising services. No information is stored on or read from your device beyond what is technically necessary to deliver the requested page. Consent under § 25 TTDSG is therefore not required.
Fonts
This website uses the Inter typeface, which is served directly from our own servers. No connection to third-party font services is made when you visit this website.
4. Email Contact
When you contact us by email (e.g. to report a bug, ask a question, or request a feature), we process the personal data you provide, which may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Device type
- OS version
- App version
Purpose: To respond to your enquiry and provide support.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — processing necessary for the performance of a pre-contractual or contractual relationship; and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in providing customer support.
Retention: Emails and associated personal data are permanently deleted six months after your issue has been resolved.
5. In-App Purchases — RevenueCat, Apple & Google
RevenueCat: SimpliBudget uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., 1032 E Brandon Blvd #3003, Brandon, FL 33511, USA) to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes data necessary for transaction processing and subscription management, such as purchase tokens and subscription status.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — processing necessary for the performance of a contract (your purchase).
International transfer: RevenueCat is based in the USA. Transfers take place on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Apple & Google: All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store (Apple Inc.) or Google Play Store (Google LLC) respectively. These companies act as independent controllers for payment processing and are subject to their own privacy policies. We do not receive your payment details.
6. No Automated Decision-Making
We do not carry out any automated decision-making or profiling as defined in Art. 22 GDPR.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a data subject, you have the following rights under GDPR, which you may exercise free of charge by contacting us at simplibudgetapp@gmail.com:
- Right of access (Art. 15): You may request confirmation of whether we process personal data about you and obtain a copy.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16): You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): You may request deletion of your personal data where the legal requirements are met.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18): You may request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20): You may request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format where processing is based on consent or contract.
- Right to object (Art. 21): You may object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). We will cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)): Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77): You have the right to lodge a complaint with a
data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence,
